Use for treatment and prevention of fleas (Ctenocephalides sp.). Reduces the incidence of flea allergy dermatitis; larval flea stages are killed in the surroundings of Advocate® treated pets.
Prevention of heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) infection.
Control of roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina including larval (L4) and immature adult stages); hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, A. braziliense (rare outside coastal areas of north Queensland, Northern Territory and northern Western Australia), Uncinaria stenocephala, including larval (L4) and immature adult stages of all species); and whipworm (Trichuris vulpis).
Control of lice (Trichodectes canis and Linognathus setosus) for up to six weeks.
Treatment and control of sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis) and generalised demodicosis (Demodex canis) in dogs and puppies.
One application lasts for a month.
* Do not use Advocate® for Dogs on cats. Advocate® does not treat tapeworms. To treat tapeworms use a suitable tapeworm treatment.
Use with caution in sick, debilitated or underweight animals. Advocate® may be safely applied to heartworm infected dogs, and therefore there is no absolute requirement for a heartworm test before commencing treatment. However, a diagnostic test for heartworm prior to commencement of treatment is recommended to ensure the optimum health of dogs. For heartworm prevention treatment with Advocate® should start one month before the first exposure to mosquitoes.
Safety directions. Harmful if swallowed. Will damage the eyes. Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders. Avoid contact with the eyes. Wash hands after use. First aid. If product in eyes, wash it out immediately with water.
Advocate® may be used as the only product for flea control as it breaks the life cycle of the flea and kills all fleas emerging from the environment to re-infest the dog or cat. More rapid resolution of heavy environmental infestations may be obtained by additional environmental control measures using a suitable registered product. It is recommended that all dogs and cats in the same environment should be treated for fleas.
Advocate® remains effective following shampoo treatment, swimming or exposure to rain.
