Actions Spinosad is the first member of the spinosyn class of insecticides and has a unique action on the insect nervous system, causing nerve excitation, leading to muscle contractions, paralysis and death in target pests. Indications Rapidly kills fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and is indicated for the treatment, prevention and control of flea infestations and for the control of flea allergy dermatitis in dogs for one month following a single administration. Has been demonstrated to rapidly kill fleas; studies confirmed that Comfortis began to kill fleas within 30 minutes and was 100% effective within four hours. There are no restrictions with regards to swimming or washing after treatment, so the dog can be treated while wet and exposed to water immediately after treatment. Contraindications None known. May be safely used in conjunction with topical tick treatments or collars, as well as with gastrointestinal worm or heartworm treatments used as per label directions. Dogs over 54 kg. Administer the appropriate combination of tablets.
