QTY:

Lotagen Gel

Manufacturer:  Schering-Plough Animal Health
Composition Each g contains 18 mg of the condensation product of metacresolsulfonic acid and formaldehyde.
Actions Coagulates pathologically changed and necrotic tissue and thus aids and accelerates the processes of demarcation and regeneration, factors vital to the healing process. Lotagen causes vasoconstriction when applied to small blood vessels and thus reduces the bleeding from capillaries in wounds. In old, poorly healing wounds, it selectively coagulates unhealthy tissue while exerting a mild astringent action on healthy tissue. This in turn promotes granulation and epithelisation. Granulation tissue is, however, not overstimulated. Lotagen Gel is strongly bactericidal and fungicidal.
