Description. Capsule for oral administration or to open and sprinkle over feed. Actions Supports cartilage metabolism. Indications Nutritional supplement for cartilage support in dogs. Long-term treatment may help reduce noninfectious joint inflammation. Precautions Cosequin cannot be recommended as an alternative treatment in acute joint inflammation. Long term treatment of at least five months is required. Withholding Periods Nil. Dosage and Administration Dogs. Initial administration (6 weeks). 5 to 10 kg: 1 capsule daily ( 1/2 in the morning; 1/2 in the evening). 11 to 22 kg: 2 capsules daily (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening). 23 to 44 kg: 3 capsules daily (2 in the morning and 1 in the evening). Over 45 kg: 4 capsules daily (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening). Maintenance. After the initial four to six weeks, slowly reduce dose by 1/2 to 1 capsule depending on the size of the pet. Dosage can be increased at any time if required. Capsules can be pulled apart and contents sprinkled over food, preferably moist or dampened food.
