Directions for Use Treat all dogs and cats in the household at the same time. Application. Spray the entire body of the animal from a distance of approximately 10 to 20 cm. Apply against the lay of the hair and make sure that the entire coat of the animal is thoroughly wet. Ruffle the coat as the spray is applied, especially in long haired or densely coated animals, so that the product penetrates down to the skin. Allow to dry naturally. Do not towel dry. May be used on puppies and kittens from 2 days of age. Data are not available on treatment of pregnant or nursing queens. Fleas (Ctenocephalides felis). For the treatment and prevention of fleas for up to 12 weeks on dogs and eight weeks on cats apply at 3 to 6 mL/kg bodyweight. Use the higher dose rate for long haired and densely coated animals to ensure the coat is wet through. Flea allergy dermatitis. Apply monthly to the affected animal at a dose rate of 6 mL/kg. Paralysis tick (scrub tick/bush tick/Ixodes holocyclus). For control of paralysis tick infestation for up to three weeks apply at 6 mL/kg at three weekly intervals during the paralysis tick season. Ensure the entire coat is thoroughly wet, especially on and around the face, neck and ears. Frontera Spray provides control of paralysis ticks, however use of the product does not guarantee prevention of tick paralysis because ticks are not killed immediately after attachment. Following application, daily searching of dogs for ticks must continue to minimize the risk of tick paralysis. Adult brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus). For the control of adult brown dog tick infestation for up to four weeks apply at 3 to 6 mL/kg. Use the higher dose rate for long haired and densely coated animals to ensure the coat is wet through. Biting lice on dogs (Trichodectes canis) and cats (Felicola substratus). Apply at 6 mL/kg.
Regular washing may not significantly reduce Frontera Spray’s activity; however some reduction of protective period could be expected with persistent exposure to water. It is recommended not to bath or shampoo the pet in the 48 hours after treatment.
